Standard Sham
A Standard Sham is a sham, or ornamental covering, for your pillow. The pillow is placed inside the sham for decoration and can be removed for use.
European Sham
The European Sham is the same as the Standard Sham except that the pillow is permanently sewn into the sham cover so it can not be removed.
Pillowcase
A covering for the pillow that can be decorative or utilitarian.
Throw Pillow
The throw pillow is a small cushion used for decoration.
Boudoir Pillow
A small decorative pillow.
Comforter or Duvet Cover
The comforter is the insulating and decorative cover for the bed. A duvet cover is a covering for a comforter or duvet. The comforter or duvet can be removed from the cover for laundering or to change the look of the bed.
Duvet
A duvet is basically a bag filled with an insulating material such as down and is used on the bed similar to a comforter. Duvets are more common in Europe than in America.
Bed Ruffle or Bed Skirt
The bed skirt can be tailored or ruffled. It is designed to hide the beds boxspring.
Flat Sheet
The flat sheet is a large piece of fabric placed under the duvet cover.
